My wife and I stayed here the second week of August. We loved it. This place is, in a word, delightful. It's well located, well appointed and comfortable. It's a short commute by car to Cook's Brook Beach and First Encounter Beach, my two favorite Cape Cod beaches. The common areas of this facility are imaginatively decorated with interesting art. There is a room set aside as a bar/lounge that opens onto the spacious and well-furnished backyard patio. There's a communal vibe. All guests have access to a shared kitchen that provides cooking vessels and utensils. We all put our beer, soft drinks, etc. in a communal 'fridge. No one poaches. The rooms are well appointed and the beds are quite comfortable. It is the nature of these review sites that they often attract the perpetually angry types that enjoy finding fault with any tiny little thing. If you see such a review about the Rugosa Guest House, on this or another review site, discount that review heavily. Rugosa Guest House is a gem. My wife and I couldn't have enjoyed ourselves more.
It doesn't get better than finding an affordable, homey, clean and comfy location to stay in Eastham right on Route 6. Convenient to everything be it beaches, restaurants or shops, the Rugosa Boutique Guest House offers you a home away from home where hanging out is part of your vacation experience. I thoroughly enjoyed having coffee (they provide) on the patio, which is beautiful, while reading a book near the goldfish pond. The staff is friendly and willing to help with anything you need. The rooms are magical - take a step in Cape Cod's history and walk on wooden floors and sleep in 4-poster beds enjoying art covering the walls and pulling you into another time. I absolutely love this place. We'll be back!
Such a gem, most definitely the best place to stay in Eastham. Super charming and comfortable. My local relatives who’ve lived in the town for 65 years stopped by and marveled at it. It’s very homey and clean, with lots of common areas and art is everywhere, including original work in the room we stayed in. I’ve never been so delighted!
We visited during the off-season. When we arrived, Joey was at the check in and was able to give us a complementary upgrade on our room based on availability. He was helpful and gave us the necessary information to enjoy our stay. Room 7 was very spacious with 2 beds and 1.5 baths and a small porch. Temperature in the room was unpredictable. I attempted to adjust the thermostat but the room temperature did not reflect the setting on the thermostat. We set the thermostat to 65, but the temperature went up to 72 and did not go down. We opened the porch door to cool the room. After closing the porch door, we turned on the heat pump AC set to 66 overnight and the temperature in the room still stayed at 71. I also noticed a couple of small details: patched ceiling in the bathroom from previous water damage, toilet bowl not the cleanest it could have been, spatters on the mirror, radiator in the bathroom was rusty. Despite these details, we did not feel our stay was impacted. We spent most of the day out and about and still felt comfortable to return for our 2nd evening and relax in the calm and quiet environment. We had a very positive experience and would stay here again in the future.
We stayed there for two nights, it was really nice location and awesome common area! The living room, kitchen and coffee bar were all well-organized. The room is small, just enough space for us to put things. I think it keeps the original things of this house, small doors and low ceilings on the second floor and old pink bathroom. It was nice to experience old house!
